National Drive Electric Week 2017
We crushed last year's #NDEW record for number of EVs in one location in Texas!!! About 154 vehicles at Grapevine Mills mall on 09/09/2017 breaks the previous Texas Record of 128 in 2016.
Also, by our count upwards of 60 Teslas, making this the largest Tesla attendance of any NDEW event this year. Also, registrants reported 5 million all-electric miles driven -- the only larger event was Cupertino in 2014 -- but it took them 600+ cars to do it.
This was one of our most fun events, with record-setting cars in attendance. We broke nearly every Texas EV record you can think of; including this year we were the second largest NDEW event in the world.
And don’t forget we also had:
- For the first time, solar-powered racing cars built by students
- A fully-autonomous vehicle
- Cars charging from a portable solar array
As awesome as all of this was none of it would have been possible without the help of our members, whether you came to show, test drive or volunteered to support the event, THANK YOU! Events like these are very important to the club and Tesla as it makes a visual impact for the rest of the world to see.
