We got an invitation to the Gigafactory Grand Opening! We thought the event was well done and reasonably well organized. The tour itself was about an hour long and focused on the cathode-side of the facility (we didn’t get to see the anode side), followed by a view of Tesla Powerwall and Powerpack assembly.

We hope you enjoyed our first and likely not our last rally around Dallas. As promised we introduced you to hidden parts of Dallas that you surely hadn’t seen.
Afterwards, we convened to The Lot, so all could compare notes and critique the judges' grammar, spelling, clue-writing ability, wit and arbitrariness.

What a great weekend at Earth Day Texas! We had perfect weather, record crowds and many people excited to see our cars!
We couldn’t have asked for a better weekend to show off our cars. We had a location that was close to perfect — especially once we figured out that putting Kris's Very Orange Roadster at the main gate might attract a few people to see us!

The big geeks and the rest of us had a fine time in the automotive workshop at Dallas Makerspace. Thanks for Chris Hightower and William Petefish for heading up the event! We learned a lot about our cars and did actually learn how to get the NTTA Tolltag to work.
We can’t imagine anyone being disappointed with what we saw yesterday! We had a fantastic time standing on line in Dallas and Fort Worth and were thrilled to meet so many new current and soon-to-be Tesla Owners. By the time the initial lines were cleared, we counted 550 people in Dallas and another 200 in Fort Worth — Fort Worth surely would have had more, had people known about it. …

Thank you all for joining us on our road trip to Harbor Inn yesterday! I think we're going to call the official count fifteen cars.
I enjoyed getting a chance to visit with most of you at the Harbor Inn, and was impressed that my car, traveling at the designated pace car's appointed speed (more or less) could still be passed like it's standing still!
Thank you Alex Winslow and Sheila Davis Beuerlein for the wonderful evening at the Perot Museum!
We had about 30 S and 2 Roadsters come to the event. It was really very nice, and Perot people and Tesla owners alike were impressed / surprised by the turnout.
Congratulations to John Bourke on winning the Tesla gift bag courtesy of the Perot Museum!…

What a great event! Thanks to John Harkey for sharing his Model X with us! (We really should pass around the hat to pay to get all of our fingerprints cleaned off of it.) Our best count was twenty-four various Tesla Models made it to the event!
And all of the conversation afterwards at …
Anyone interested in a road trip Tuesday evening?
A downtown parking facility with 74 stalls, an agreement with Tesla Motor Inc for a supercharger in the 300 block of Tomlinson, and contracts for a fuel farm and for a waterline on Bill Bradford Road are just some of the items on the agenda for the Sulphur Springs City Council Tuesday, January 5th at 7 p.m., in the Council Room at 201 North Davis Street.
7. Discussion/action on a motion to approve a proposed agreement with Tesla Motors Inc. to locate a supercharger in the 300 block of Tomlinson Street.
Perhaps it will be helpful to have some regional owners speak to the benefits a Supercharger would bring to Sulphur Springs... :D
And the results from the City Council meeting:
The council approved a proposed parking improvement along Main, Davis, and Tomlinson Streets that would provide 74 parking stalls at a cost of $300,000. This would allow at least an additional 30 parking spaces for the downtown area. Included in the parking area will be an 8 stall charging station for Tesla Motors. The Tesla charging station was also approved by the council Tuesday following statements made by two out of town individuals who desire to have increased charging opportunities for their travels to Sulphur Springs and beyond and by one downtown business owner who owns a Tesla auto. The charger will be located in the 300 block of Tomlinson.
If we can, I would like to meet up in the Target parking lot close to Cabelas slightly before. (this also allows for people to pick up extra toys to fill the trunks/frunks)
Dinner to follow and to be decided when we meet-up.
End your DFW Solar Tour at our place for the post Tour party! Drive your Tesla on up to the house around 4pm for snacks, perhaps beer or wine and a tour of our solar panels, energy management system, air-source heat pump, beehives and other stuff.
Come celebrate the end of National Drive Electric Week with us at Grapevine Mills! Simon Malls is going to block off the east parking lot for us (by the Chademo & L2 chargers) and we're going to try to set an EV record for North Texas (shouldn't be hard). Nissan & maybe others will be offering rides, and given the heavy foot traffic at Grapevine Mills on Saturdays, we will be able to introduce lots of people to EVs!
Oklahoma City Drive Electric Event was held on September 12, 2015 from noon-4:00 PM in The Paseo Arts District. The weather was absolutely perfect, clear Oklahoma skies, high 70's, light breeze.
32 vehicles came out: 6 Teslas, lots of Leafs (including mine), 3 BMWs, several Volts, a Ford Focus, 2 motorcycles (a Zero, and a custom built racing cycle).
Tons of test ride/drives were given. My inexpert estimate is that we had 150+ visitors, not counting the nearly 50 volunteers who brought vehicles or otherwise helped out.
- Mayor Mick Cornett proclaimed 9/12-20 Drive Electric Week in OKC.
- OG&E, our electric service provider, was generous! They set a meter with a 240 V service at no cost, and brought EVs to show and volunteers to help.
- The OKC EV fleet manager came to talk about their vehicles and infrastructure efforts.
Hop in your pride and joy and join us at The Speedway Club for camaraderie and conversation with people who love cars. And coffee...there will be coffee!
